From our friends at the LaMorinda Sun comes this news of an upcoming backpack and school supply drive: The Moraga Youth Involement Committee is holding a backpack drive all month to collect backpacks as donations. The backpacks will be given to students fourth grade and younger whose families can’t afford to purchase a new backpack. Kudos to the Southwest Michigan Association of REALTORS® who are holding their fifth annual luggage drive for foster kids. If you live in the Golden State, take a bit of time between now and Labor Day (September 6th) to drop off new school supplies for foster children. Sleep Train–one of our heroes!–does an enormous amount of good for foster children all year long. They are wrapping up their back-to-school supply drive this week and over Labor Day weekend. A binder, backpack, pencils or some cool art supplies could make all the difference in the life of a foster kid.
